In the past we have had a team which swam, cycled and ran the equivalent, cumulative, distance of Leeds to Nairobi, over 6,000 miles in a year to raise much needed funds for Eating Stones.

One of our trustees is currently undertaking a similarly ludicrous challenge of running 417km between now and April 2019. This is the distance between the Matibabu Hospital in Ukwala and Nairobi's Kenyatta National Hospital, where many rural Kenyans have to travel for treatment not available elsewhere in the country.

To sponsor Harriet, follow her progress or get involved visit her JustGiving page or follow her on Twitter.

You don’t have to do something as silly as all that to help us though! Get in touch and we’ll see how we can help your idea become a reality.

volunteer Kenya.

One of the newest strings to our bow is that of skill-exchange and education. In 2018 Eating Stones Fund traveled to Kenya with a group of experienced UK nurses in order to research our new partnerships and projects. The outcome of this trip was the formulation of our new focus on healthcare and the resultant and intended work that you can see in our what we do. section of this website.

Eating Stones Fund are looking for skilled Nurses, ANPs, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Medics and Surgeons to help us continue this work. From 2019 onward we will be partnering with experienced healthcare professionals from the UK to conduct research, deliver education and training as well as carrying out skilled clinical interventions. Our Kenyan partners, Matibabu, run regular surgical camps providing locals with a variety of corrective procedures that they otherwise would not be able to access or afford.
